Antenal & Postnatal Care
A calm, supportive space for you and your changing body – before and after birth
Physiotherapy care at any stage of pregnancy
Pregnancy and Postnatal Physiotherapy
At Thrive, we believe pregnancy and postnatal care should be thoughtful, individual, and most of all, nurturing. Whether you’re growing a baby or recovering after birth, your body is doing incredible things. But it can also feel uncomfortable, unfamiliar, or just not quite like you.
That’s where we come in. Our physiotherapy support is designed for women at every stage – from early pregnancy through to the fourth trimester and beyond. We offer personalised care for common symptoms like pelvic girdle pain, tummy muscle separation, pelvic floor issues, and leaks, with gentle hands-on support and practical advice to help you feel strong, comfortable and confident again.
Pregnancy Care: Helping You Move Comfortably
Pregnancy brings big changes to your body, and sometimes those changes can come with aches, discomfort or questions. You might be feeling sore in your pelvis, noticing some leaking when you sneeze or cough, or just unsure of how to exercise safely. It’s completely normal to want a little extra guidance and care.
Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP)
It’s very common to feel some aches and pains as your body changes during pregnancy. One of the most frequent is pelvic girdle pain, which can show up as a deep ache or sharp twinge around your hips, lower back, groin, or even down the legs. You might notice it more when walking, climbing stairs, turning in bed or getting out of the car. It can feel frustrating, especially when you’re already tired or trying to stay active.
But feeling discomfort doesn’t mean something is wrong. It’s simply your body doing its best to keep up with the changes, and sometimes it just needs a little help.
At Thrive, we take a holistic, thoughtful approach to pelvic pain in pregnancy, offering gentle hands-on treatment, tailored movement support and simple, practical advice to help you feel more comfortable and confident in your changing body. Everything we do is designed to feel kind, effective and completely centred around you – no pressure, no overwhelm, just care that helps you feel more like yourself again.
Pelvic Floor and Bladder Support
Your pelvic floor works quietly in the background, but during pregnancy and after birth, it can feel like everything changes. You might notice a heaviness or dragging sensation, a little leak when you sneeze or laugh, or a sudden need to rush to the toilet. These sensations are incredibly common, but that doesn’t mean you have to just live with them.
At Thrive, we take a gentle, expert approach to pelvic floor recovery. In the calm of our welcoming clinic, we’ll guide you to reconnect with your body in a way that feels safe, achievable and supportive. Whether you’re healing from a tear, navigating leaks, or simply wanting to feel confident in your core again, we’ll take the time to understand what you need and create a plan that’s completely tailored to you. Quiet, restorative, and focused on your comfort, this is care designed to help you feel truly supported and back in touch with yourself.
Postnatal Recovery: A Gentle Return to You
After birth, it’s easy for everything to become about the baby, but your recovery matters too! At Thrive, we create a calm, welcoming space where you can rest, rebuild and gently reconnect with your body. Our postnatal physiotherapy is designed to support you physically and emotionally, helping you feel more like you again.
We can support you with:
- Tummy muscle separation (diastasis recti)
It’s common to notice a softness or gap through the centre of your tummy after birth. We’ll gently guide you through safe, effective movements to help restore strength and support, always with a holistic and thoughtful approach. - Pelvic floor recovery
If you’re still leaking, feeling pressure, or just not quite in tune with your pelvic floor, we’ll help you rebuild confidence with clear, supportive guidance that feels manageable and kind. - C-section or perineal scar care
Whether you’re healing from a Caesarean birth or a perineal tear, we use gentle, hands-on techniques to ease tightness, reduce sensitivity and help your body feel more comfortable again. - Aches, pains or general tension
Feeding, carrying and broken sleep can leave you feeling tight, sore or out of balance. We offer gentle hands-on treatment, simple exercises and advice to soothe tension in your neck, shoulders, back or hips, all designed to fit around your day and support your recovery.
Every part of your care is centred around you. There’s no rush, no pressure, just a quiet, nurturing space to rest, recharge and rebuild in your own time. Whether you’re newly postnatal or a little further down the road, we’re here to help you feel truly looked after.
